Makenah Backes

Fourth Grade Teacher

Miss Backes is thrilled to begin her first year teaching 4th grade at Hope Christian Academy. She feels incredibly blessed to be part of a school where faith and learning go hand in hand. Her desire is to create a classroom environment that fosters curiosity, confidence, and a deep love for both knowledge and the Lord.

She believes that every child is uniquely created by God for a very special and specific purpose, and she’s passionate about helping her students grow academically, emotionally, and spiritually. Her teaching philosophy is rooted in grace, encouragement, and high (yet very reasonable) expectations—always pointing students back to the truth of God’s Word.

Miss Backes graduated from Grand Canyon University with a Bachelors of Biblical Studies, where she committed her life to be one of full time ministry and disciple-making, which God has used to lead her specifically into the teaching role. She is excited to walk alongside her students and their families this year, trusting that God will do great things in and through the 4th grade class as they learn more about Him and the intricacies of all that He has created.
